Asplenium Norfolk Gem Birds Nest Fern – Asplenium Norfolk Gem
Norfolk Gem comes from Norfolk Island and presents an interesting variety from the commonly found Asplenium Australasicum Birds Nest. The Norfolk Gem has very broad glossy leaves which get wider towards the end. Given the right conditions it is fast growing. Shade loving with a deep rich well drained soil incorporating peat moss and mulch with emulate its natural environment. It complements tropical gardens as an under-storey planting or container grown on a patio. Mature size is 1 meter high and wide. Care not to burn the plant with too much fertilizer – an organic liquid fertilizer is ideal.
