Red Tower Ginger grows to 2.5 meters and is a stunning plant for the tropical garden. It grows well in temperate regions with correct planting and shading. It is quite cold tolerant but frost sensitive. A deep friable well-drained soil is essential with mulch and peat moss for natural organics. The stunning red flowers persist from Spring until late Autumn. It prefers a darker canopy compared to many gingers. It can even be grown in a pot for patios provided it is not in a windy area and protected from full sun. A balanced liquid fertilizer monthly is recommended in Spring and Summer.
