Red Cabbage Palm – Cordyline Fruiticosa Rubra

The Red Cabbage Palm can grow to 4 meters but can be cut to encourage branching and a bushier habit. They do best in rich well-drained soil and like a sun-shade aspect. If grown in shade they develop an unattractive stretched appearance. Its reddish-brown appearance with broad leaves adds colour to the sub-tropical garden providing a splash of colour. The broad leaves will be burnt by frost. They appreciate plenty of mulch and water on hot summer days.
