Upright Elephant Ear – Alocasia Portodora
Alocasia Portodora is commonly known as the upright Elephant Ear and has glossy heart-shaped foliage. The stems have a purple tone and it has a suckering habit. It will grow in temperate climates with protection and a moist well-drained soil with peat moss enhances its growth. Bright filtered light and a thick layer of mulch for best growth habit. Monthly application of a liquid organic fertilizer will produce excellent leaf growth during the warm growing season. Mature height is to 1.5 meters. Its sap is toxic to pets.
