Carnarvon Gorge Cabbage Palm – Livistona Nitida

The Carnarvon Gorge Cabbage Palm is endemic to Queensland and survives happily in tropical, sub-tropical and warm temperate regions. It is extremely cold hardy and resistant to most pests and diseases. It is best grown in full sun and accepts a variety of soil types. The leaf ends of this fan palm recline gracefully. In natural habitat it grows to 20 metres but in NSW plantings would rarely attain this height. Being cold and heat tolerant it maybe used in similar plantings to the cotton palm.
