Solitaire Palm – Ptychosperma elegans

The Solitaire Palm is native to Queensland. It is a tall slender palm often best displayed growing in clumps. It is well adapted to coastal NSW and likes a deep well-drained soil with plenty of mulch. It’s happy in tropical, sub-tropical or warm temperate climates given some protection. It has a high-water requirement and protect from frosts. Constantly moist soil is important if grown in full sun. In cultivation rarely achieves 6 meters in height.
